Advanced filters (JQL)

If the basic defined filters in the Foxly priority table or Priority matrix aren’t enough you can always customise your view with Advanced filters.

Advanced filters accept JQL (Jira Query Language) queries, which is the most powerful and flexible way to filter issues in Jira.

Are you new to using JQL? Here are some useful links 🤓

How to use Advanced filters (JQL)

Access the Priorities tab in the Jira project menu.

  • In the Priority table filters section, click on the Switch to JQL button.

  • The filters section is replaced with a JQL search field.

  • Insert JQL in the field, eg. Sprint in (1, 2) order by created DESC.

  • Press Search or return key to apply the filter.

  • The priority table result change based on the given JQL query.

The validity of the JQL query is checked after you press Submit button or return key. If JQL is invalid you’ll see the message: “JQL query isn’t valid. Try changing your JQL or using basic filters.“

Foxly remembers last used JQL filter per project (and per user), so you don’t need to insert JQL query every time you access the app or switch between the Advanced and Basic filters.
